To conduct inspections and calibrations in accordance with the Company Quality Management System. Responsibilities Receiving Inspection: Responsible for inspection of incoming materials and parts including dimensions, material, finishes, and general quality. Floor Inspections: Assist machinists in complex part inspections involving specialized equipment. Calibrations: Maintain the factory calibration records and conduct calibrations of designated factory inspection equipment and pressure gauges. Customer Inspectors: Escort customer and outside agency inspectors through the plant and generate testing records and certificates. Audits: Participates in quarterly internal QA Audits as directed by the QA Manager. Sample Inspection: Inspect new sample parts. Standards: Preparing assigned testing procedures and work instructions to document activities in the QA system. Testing: Assist in special engineering testing of new and existing products. Vendors: Investigate problems with materials or parts and resolve quality issues with vendors. Returned Goods: Identify, dimensionally inspect and perform hardness tests on returned products. Holds: Assist engineering in evaluating rejects and determining dispositions. Technical Support: Assist in sourcing special materials and processes and the preparation of applicable procedures and methods when assigned. Conduct plant and field investigations across the country under adverse field conditions to evaluate product installations, investigate problems, and make the necessary repairs. Product Support: Maintain a working knowledge of Company products and development projects. Recommend inspections and tests to assure quality product designs. Field Service Backup: To be able to go into the field and customer job sites. Analyze and address issues while maintaining a positive customer relations. Reporting: Develop and maintain the following reporting systems. Calibration Records for gauges and inspection equipment in accordance with the Quality Assurance Manual and procedures. Inspections: Preparation of inspection reports. Oversees the measurement test for all applicable co-workers and keeps records of measuring exams Keeps a log or records as necessary for first piece inspection. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering 5+ years of experience Quality, APQP and FMEA Six Sigma Green Belt Inspection or Machining Background Ability to use basic hand tools and metrology equipment Experience working in ISO 9000 environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
