Trade/Logistics Analyst

Reporting to the Import Export Compliance Manager, the Trade/Logistics Analyst is responsible for identifying and implementing strategies to minimize tariff costs and maximize duty drawback opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience in trade compliance, customs regulations, and data analysis to support duty recovery initiatives and tariff classification accuracy. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Logistics Analyst to support our global trade compliance and supply chain teams. This position is located in Grand Rapids, MI, and will be Hybrid. In this role a typical day will look like: Tariff & Duty Mitigation Analyze tariff classifications, duty rates, and trade agreements to identify cost-saving opportunities. Research and apply duty mitigation strategies, including Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), Foreign Trade Zones (FTZs), and tariff engineering. Monitor trade policies and regulations to assess their impact on company operations and supply chain costs. As directed provide analytical support to Customs Valuation and Reconciliation filling requirements. Duty Drawback Program Manage the duty drawback process, including identifying eligible transactions and ensuring timely filing. Collaborate with customs brokers and internal stakeholders to recover duty overpayments and optimize refund opportunities. Maintain compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other international trade laws related to duty recovery. Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze import and export data to identify discrepancies, compliance risks, and potential savings. Prepare reports and dashboards tracking tariff expenditures, duty recoveries, and cost-saving initiatives. Work with finance and accounting teams to reconcile duty drawback claims and financial impacts. Assist in the design and implementation of automation solutions to increase efficiency and improve the monitoring of compliance issues. Collaboration & Compliance Partner with supply chain, procurement, and legal teams to ensure compliance with trade regulations. Support internal audits and documentation reviews to maintain compliance with customs requirements. Recordkeeping: collect and organize import entry packets and export declaration documents in accordance with regulatory requirements. Respond to Broker/Agent requests for information to ensure compliance and secure timely goods release. As directed, solicit Vendor Declaration of material Country of Origin. Record and Maintain corresponding material master data.
