Senior Manager, Automation Engineering - Design
The Senior Manager, Automation Engineering - Design is responsible for establishing next-generation solutions (machines, processes, workstations, etc., automated and manual) for use within the extended Walmart Store fulfillment network. The goal is to improve customer experience, meet business demand, and reduce the cost to serve. This role involves proactively engaging and collaborating with cutting-edge technology to leverage their strengths in support of our fulfillment needs in new and innovative ways. This position reports to the Director, Automation Engineering and is an onsite role based in Bentonville, Arkansas with a relocation package available. What You'll Do
Lead Technical Research and Design: Drive the development of next-generation technologies to support the growth of the store fulfillment network. Assess potential automation solutions and assist with their selection, use, and application.
Grow Engineering Capabilities: Lead and develop a team of mechanical, electrical, industrial, pneumatic, controls, robotic, and software (IT/WMS) engineers across various locations.
Provide Technical Assistance: Support Program Managers, Store Managers, operations team leaders, and maintenance personnel during the implementation, start-up, and operation of new automation. Offer training and assistance in writing Standard Operating Practices (SOPs), establishing Lean methodologies, and maintenance procedures.
Leadership and Guidance: Share experience and broad knowledge of industry technologies, equipment, and material handling solutions. Utilize lean process flow and continuous improvement tools to break barriers and unlock the potential of the Engineering Organization. What You'll Bring
