Manatee County Government is hiring for administrative support positions within the Animal Control Administration division of the Community & Veterans Services department. The work location is at Bishop Animal Shelter, 5718 21st Avenue West, Bradenton, Florida 34208. The work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The expected starting hourly range is $18.40 to $23.00. The job involves providing administrative support to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the division. Working conditions include a typical indoor office environment, sitting for long periods, working on a computer, lifting equipment up to 25 pounds alone and up to 50 pounds with assistance, and occasional high-stress situations. The position may require working outside of normal business hours. Job Description
Essential functions include greeting and directing visitors, answering and directing phone calls, planning and scheduling appointments and meetings, preparing correspondence and reports, maintaining records, updating and maintaining office policies, managing office supplies, making travel arrangements, and performing fiscal duties as needed. The position also requires attending job-specific training classes and performing other related work as required. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of administrative experience supporting mid-level management. Previous accounting or fiscal experience is desired for positions with fiscal responsibilities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Applicants should be able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. They should be accurate, detail-oriented, and organized, able to resolve routine situations and problems, and have general knowledge and understanding of modern office procedures, regulatory compliance, and computer systems and software applications. Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are also required. Veterans Preference
