Maintenance Technician

We are looking to add to our maintenance team on 2nd and 3rd shift. Maintenance techs respond to line calls, PM equipment and work on projects. Maintenance Technician Responsibilities Include:
Must comply with all employee and food safety guidelines including LOTO, HACCP, PPE, and OSHA regulations. Effect a variety of repairs in a fast-paced production environment by responding to line down calls for mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues. Willingness to work on a team with other Maintenance Technicians. Troubleshooting and repair of conveyors, motors, refrigeration units, pumps, and other common production equipment. Provide improvement suggestions or ideas to management and participation on periodic team events. Problem solves concerns and identifies potential food safety/sanitation concerns while working in concert with Food Safety and Quality Assurance. May be involved in training/mentoring new Maintenance Technicians. Diagnose/repair PLCs; may be involved in some programming. Conducts regular inspections of tools, safety and production equipment. Reads, analyzes and interprets instructions, blueprints, reports, and schedules. Performs welding as needed; familiar with MIG/TIG and/or stick welding. Notify supervisor of unusual conditions or needed materials to complete projects and/or repairs. Requirements:
High school/GED required. Minimum of 3-5 years as a Maintenance Technician in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Food experience desired, but not necessary. Ability to move large equipment with either a hand jack or lift truck. Willingness to work a 6-day schedule. Mechanical, electrical knowledge. Excellent communication skills. General Duties:
Comply with all safety rules. Accurately and fully completes the HACCP / Process Control Report. Understand machine specific procedures. Keep work area and supplies clean. Follow GMP's as outlined in the Handbook. Able to troubleshoot and repair emergency line calls in a timely manner. Lubricate equipment properly set forth by the preventative maintenance schedule. Repair and replace AC and DC motors and gearboxes, ensure proper alignment and proper wiring by verifying direction. Rebuild centrifugal and pneumatic pumps. Repair and replacement of all types of conveying equipment, including wire belt. Troubleshoot and repair compressors. Basic electrical repairs. Completing all necessary paperwork and completing work orders correctly. Ability to drive a fork truck and rig equipment safely. Ensure spare parts storage area is clean and minimum quantities are closely monitored. Share common knowledge and train other mechanics. Repair case coding equipment (Marsh coders and Video-jets). Rebuild and repair of valves and cylinders. Ensure personal tools, work cart and maintenance shop are clean and in good working order. Perform plumbing repairs, pipefitting, soldering and sweating of fittings. Be able to weld proficiently, (stick, TIG or MIG). General building (carpentry) repairs.
