Summary:
The Data Engineer I demonstrates intermediate expertise in managing data throughout the entire lifecycle-ranging from data ingestion and transformation to model development and report generation. They bring solid knowledge of business intelligence tools and offer broad support across BI functions, including report and dashboard design, data visualization, ad-hoc querying, and data discovery, while maintaining consistency in standards, layout, and visual presentation.
Responsibilities: * Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types - Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner - Greets and engages with a smile - Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes * Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities * Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types - Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment - Maintains and promotes professionalism - Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics - Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards * Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc. * Design and maintain ETL scripts and processes to move and transform data into various database platforms using common programming languages and enterprise data processing tools * Maintains/updates interfaces/applications/databases once implemented; makes changes in tables/logic and tools; adds and deletes codes and other information; works with IT staff and other resources when systems are being upgraded to identify impact on existing interfaces * Design and maintain ETL scripts and processes to move and transform data into various database platforms using common programming languages and enterprise data processing tools * Design, implement, and maintain database architectures while optimizing queries across multiple database platforms to enhance performance and efficiency. Test and document all new or modified scripts, processes, models, and reports to ensure accuracy and maintainability * Design, develop and maintain metadata models using IBM Cognos Framework Manager to support enterprise reporting and analytics solutions * Apply appropriate security to all aspects of the data-lifecycle while retaining ease of use and access to deliverables for the end user * Design and develop intermediate to complex reports and dashboards by leveraging enterprise reporting tools and integrating data from multiple sources to support business decision-making * Convert existing reports to Cognos by reverse-engineering code, researching data availability and formats, designing and programming new reports, and enhancing and maintaining existing reports * Develop routines for end users to facilitate best practices database use * Gather reporting and dashboard requirements, translating them into specifications for reports, dashboards, and models that integrate data from multiple sources * Conduct user acceptance testing, monitor and refine reports and BI solutions, and collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure effective adoption and decision-making * Work closely with systems developers, acting as a liaison between business users and the BI Team throughout the project lifecycle * Collaborate with the analytics team to support reporting and data needs across the organization. * Provide training and support to Cognos end users on basic navigation and functionality within the Cognos platform * Performs all other duties as assigned

Experience: Essential: * 2 years directly related experience
Nonessential: * 5 years directly related experience
Education: Essential: * Bachelors Degree in directly related field
Credentials: Essential: * Standard Driver's License * Pass gaming background check * Gaming license or permit as required by assigned position * IBM Cognos Certification
