Position Overview
As part of the Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department, you'll take the lead in planning and delivering a wide variety of inclusive programs for individuals with physical, cognitive, emotional, and neurodivergent disabilities. From sports leagues to outdoor adventures to wellness workshops-you'll be at the heart of building connection, confidence, and community through recreation.
This isn't your typical desk job. You'll be
engaging directly with participants , supervising part-time staff, collaborating with community partners, and ensuring every program you lead is fun, welcoming, and impactful. Please view our

About You
You're someone who believes everyone deserves to play, explore, and connect-regardless of ability. You have experience creating adaptive programs or working in therapeutic recreation. You're energized by being out in the community, love working with diverse groups of people, and bring a solution-focused mindset to your work.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Management, or related field At least two years of experience in adaptive/therapeutic recreation or a healthcare setting Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or willingness to obtain Valid driver's license (MI license required upon hire)
Bonus if you're CPR/First Aid certified or have lifeguard certification (or willing to get certified within a year).
