About The Role We are seeking a Test Technician to support our development and field testing efforts for autonomous weapon and flight systems. You’ll work hands-on with hardware and software, executing test plans, collecting and analyzing data, and ensuring that our systems perform reliably in real-world scenarios. This role requires a unique blend of technical curiosity, software capability (especially Python), and a strong interest in drones, robotics, and field testing. Familiarity with ArduPilot, PX4, or similar flight control stacks is highly desirable. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where your work directly contributes to mission success and system reliability. What You'll Do Execute hardware and software test plans for autonomous platforms, flight systems, and subsystems Operate and support test environments including UAVs, motion rigs, and benchtop simulation setups Develop Python scripts to automate tests, analyze log files, and generate performance metrics Work with ArduPilot-based systems for configuration, tuning, flight testing, and log review Assist engineering teams in debugging system-level issues through methodical testing and diagnostics Prepare and maintain detailed documentation on test procedures, outcomes, and issue reports Support hardware bring-up, integration testing, and validation across control, software, and vision teams Participate in field deployments and live test events, including range testing of autonomous systems What You'll Need Associate's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience Strong Python scripting experience, especially for test automation and data analysis 2+ years of hands-on experience with UAV systems, robotics, or embedded electronics Familiarity with ArduPilot, PX4, or related flight controller platforms Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals Excellent troubleshooting skills, both hardware and software Comfortable working in outdoor and dynamic test environments Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced startup setting You'll Stand Out If You Have Familiarity with telemetry protocols (MAVLink), RC systems, and ground control stations such as Mission Planner or QGroundControl Exposure to sensor calibration, GPS/IMU systems, and flight log analysis Hands-on experience with drones, RC aircraft, or robotics platforms, whether personal or professional Prior experience in defense, aerospace, or other regulated testing environments What We Offer Competitive salary ACS Equity Package Health, Dental, Vision Insurance Paid Time Off Allen Control Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer, providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment.
