While Mosaic Service Partners is a startup in the residential services space, its institutional support and committed capital from Alpine, deal sourcing and execution resources, and experienced management team provide a strong competitive advantage and will allow the company to deploy a rapid M&A growth strategy, which are very unique characteristics for an early-stage firm. Mosaic is looking to hire individuals who understand the “build”, are willing to roll up their sleeves and work hard across many lanes and are excited by the opportunity to create an industry-leading platform from its inception. Opportunity Overview Mosaic Service Partners is a private equity-backed home residential services platform headquartered in Washington, DC is seeking a Controller to serve as a key member of the finance leadership team. This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and play a critical part in supporting the company’s rapid growth through shaping the finance infrastructure, build scalable systems, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across the platform. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments. Experience in private equity-backed businesses and/or multi-location field services organizations is preferred. What You’ll Do Lead the day-to-day accounting operations across the platform, including oversight of GL, AR/AP, payroll, month-end close, and consolidation processes Build and manage a high-performing accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting across all entities Partner closely with the CFO to design and implement scalable processes that support the company’s acquisition strategy and integration of newly acquired businesses Oversee external audit processes, tax compliance, and treasury operations in coordination with outside advisors Drive process improvements and system enhancements (e.g., ERP implementation or optimization—Sage Intacct or similar preferred) Manage post-acquisition onboarding of acquired companies from an accounting perspective, including purchase price accounting, working capital true-ups, and establishing consistency with accounting policies Support FP&A in preparing board reporting, investor packages, and key financial dashboards Partner cross-functionally with HR, Operations, and IT to ensure proper financial integration and compliance across functional areas Provide strategic insights and financial leadership on issues impacting the company's performance and value creation strategy What We're Looking For 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with 3+ years in a controller or assistant controller role CPA designation required; strong knowledge of GAAP, technical accounting, and internal controls Prior experience in a private equity-backed environment or high-growth, acquisitive businesses preferred Proven success integrating acquisitions from a financial perspective (ideally 3+ integrations), preferred Experience leading or supporting ERP system implementations Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills; ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization Highly organized, self-motivated, and execution-oriented, with a bias toward continuous improvement and operational excellence Travel, Location and Compensation: Mosaic has an office in Washington DC, we are looking for candidates to go in on a hybrid basis This position may require some travel to the new acquisition sites Mosaic offers a competitive base, bonus and equity package for this role Candidates must include a resume to be considered for this role.
