Discovery, is seeking a Senior Analyst within the growth analytics team to manage drivers-based business forecasting for their Streaming initiatives. The role involves developing forecasting methodologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and translating complex data into actionable insights to drive business outcomes. Responsibilities: • Manage, own, and evolve a drivers-based forecasting model for Streaming subscription offerings. • Develop and refine forecasting methodologies using best-in-class methods to model acquisition and retention behavior and estimate how those and other metrics will be impacted by key business initiatives. • Partner with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Growth, and Strategy to align forecast assumptions with business strategy and operational plans. • Build and maintain automated dashboards and reporting tools to communicate forecast outputs, trends, and insights to stakeholders and senior leadership. • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive business outcomes. • Collaborate with data engineering and platform teams to ensure data pipelines and models have the appropriate granularity and business logic. • Lead deep-dive analyses to understand deviations from forecast, uncover underlying drivers, and recommend corrective actions. • Document and socialize key forecasting assumptions, methodologies, and definitions to ensure transparency and alignment across the organization. Qualifications: Required: • 3+ years of experience in analytics. • Significant experience using SQL to explore and analyze large data sets in cloud environments. • Experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools such as Looker and Tableau. • A proven track record of providing actionable insights that drive business impact in the form of revenue or profit. • Logical mindset capable of making appropriate trade-offs between speed and analytical depth without sacrificing quality. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, collaborate and influence cross-functional partners. • Ability to deliver on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels. • Collaborative approach to partnership. • Comfortable communicating with a diverse set of backgrounds, seniority levels, and knowledge sets, particularly in translating complex data concepts to strategic recommendations. • A self-starter who is passionate about getting data, using data, making sense of data, and helping others benefit from making analytics driven decisions. Preferred: • Experience unpacking gaps to forecast for business leaders in prior roles. • BA/BS in statistics, mathematics, economics, or other quantitative discipline. • Experience in Python or R.
