Associate Criminal Defense Attorney
position within a premier law firm with lots of room for growth. This is an opportunity for a dedicated Associate Attorney to gain valuable experience and further their career with an established firm in the Chicago area. As the Associate Criminal Defense Attorney, you will report to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney. The Associate Attorney will manage their caseload, client interactions, and collaborate with our Criminal Defense Team of attorneys and legal assistants.
Responsibilities
Advise clients on their legal rights and draft legal documents related to their cases.
Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and advise them on strategies post-hearing.
Manage court appearances, trials, draft motions, interview witnesses, and conduct legal research.
Analyze case outcomes based on legal precedents.
Manage workload of cases efficiently.
Provide legal analysis to determine case benefits for clients.
Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or counter prosecution charges.
Prepare clients for depositions, set case strategy goals, and gather information from witnesses and experts.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of Criminal Defense experience.
Experience handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
A team player who is collaborative and strategic.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
