General Position Summary
The Database and AV Systems Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, consistency, and security of parish data systems while ensuring parish volunteers and staff are trained and supported in the operation of audio-visual technology. This individual plays a vital role in supporting the mission of the Catholic Church by ensuring parishioner information is reliable for effective communication and outreach, and by enabling the high-quality presentation of liturgies, events, and ministry gatherings. To be clear, this position is not responsible for the church's sounds system.
Principal Accountabilities:
Database Integrity Maintain and update parish database(s) such as PDS and planning Center. Ensure data accuracy, including parishioner records, registrations, sacramental information, and giving history. Run regular audits and data clean-ups to reduce duplication and outdated records. Generate reports to support ministry leaders, finance, stewardship, and pastoral planning. Collaborate with front office and ministry staff to ensure consistent and timely data entry practices. Develop and document procedures for data entry and maintenance. Uphold confidentiality and compliance with diocesan data policies. Successfully manage projects such as database migration with outside contractors. AV Training and Support
Oversee setup, maintenance, and organization of audio-visual equipment across parish facilities. This includes meeting rooms, parish hall, PCC ,and the PAC. Train and support volunteers and staff in operating AV systems for livestreams, events, and catechetical programming. Create easy-to-follow documentation and checklists for using AV systems. Assist with troubleshooting AV issues during parish events and Masses as needed. Stay up to date on new AV tools and recommend upgrades when appropriate. Coordinate with external vendors for AV maintenance and equipment upgrades. Engage outside resources when needed to fix a problem beyond scope. Qualifications
Experience with parish database systems. Ability to learn audio-visual equipment and systems, including soundboards, projectors, cameras, and livestream platforms. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability. Ability to train and support non-technical users in a friendly and patient manner. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Flexible schedule that includes some evenings and weekends for parish events and Mass support. Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Comfortable with setting up AV equipment, cables, and moving between multiple buildings on parish grounds. Supervision Given and/or Received:

Minimal travel is required. Education and Experience Preferred:
Experience working in databases and their management Data systems implementation Ability to trouble shoot computer and technology problems and find solutions Prior work or volunteer experience in a Catholic parish or diocesan setting. Basic knowledge of livestreaming tools. Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools.
