Position Summary & Responsibilities
Interface with various equipment and systems, including PLCs, SCADAs, HMIs, Servers, Databases, Data Historian, Visualization, and other automation equipment.
Support networking activities, such as VLAN, Subnets, and IP protocols.
Lead and support the design, commissioning, validation, or optimization of equipment as the automation lead.
Consult with cross-functional teams and assist system owners in process development as the automation SME.
Review and approve requirements, specifications, drawings, coding procedures, and guidelines.
Provide technical guidance and training on systems, software, equipment, and procedures.
Communicate priorities and progress regularly to the team.
Troubleshoot issues, providing temporary and permanent fixes.
Review and approve documentation for equipment and process qualification.
Author, review, and revise SOPs and specifications for equipment and systems.
Ensure proper documentation practices during maintenance.
Maintain compliance and recommend improvements in productivity, waste reduction, quality, and cost.
Lead investigations and studies with minimal supervision.
Interact with regulatory agencies during audits and inspections.
Perform quality audits on devices to ensure proper functioning.
Act as interim manager for the Automation Department in the absence of the Senior Manager.
Provide 24/7 support as part of a rotating on-call system.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Significant experience supporting manufacturing operations in regulated or cGMP environments.
Experience with automation systems such as Rockwell, Inductive Ignition, Aveva (Wonderware), Siemens, Emerson (GE), or B&R.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
Experience with FactoryTalk Batch, Data Historian, Aveva PI, Microsoft SQL, GAMP 5, ISA standards, and GMP principles.
Additional Conditions
Visual and auditory skills for interpreting information and working with equipment.
