Utilizing advanced knowledge, this position is responsible for programming, monitoring, installing, testing, commissioning, inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing building automation systems (BAS). Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Program Building Automation Systems based on project plans, specifications, and other contractual documents. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturers software packages in virtual and physical environments. Integrate systems of different manufacturers and protocols (BACnet, MODBUS, LON, N2, etc.). Execute field changes/directives incorporating changes in database and programs. Commission, test, and verify functionality of DDC control components, programs, interfaces and HVAC system performance. Process and update field documentation (checkout sheets, screens, etc.). Deliver customer training and support on new installations. Troubleshoot DDC programs, control components, communications, and software of legacy installs. Participate in external educational activities and presentations in the community related to knowledge and professional issues. Maintain open lines of communication with internal teams to resolve issues, provide recommendations, and preserve client and coworker relationships. Provide professional, consistent, and clear communication with internal and external customers. Participate in leadership and industry development opportunities. Maintain constructive relationships and communications with clients, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, community officials, and company staff. Maintain current knowledge of company software and systems as required to meet responsibilities. Maintain a valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record which, per Companys vehicle policy, allows operation of a company vehicle. Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization. Qualifications
Ability to actively prioritize, lead, collaborate with, and function well within a team-oriented environment across multiple projects. Commercial programming experience with BAS systems. Strong computer skills with ability to learn new systems quickly. Proficiency with Alerton, Distech, and Niagra based controls - preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. In-depth knowledge of Commercial HVAC and/or Mechanical Systems. Experience with basic electrical circuits. Exhibit the ability to think strategically as it relates to business goals. Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Ability to understand and implement best practice standards. Ability to quickly and effectively solve complex problems. Ability to adapt to change and stress in the work environment and manage competing demands while maintaining high performance levels. Ability to deliver quality through attention to detail. Exceptional organizational skills. Listening skills. Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude. Education & Certifications
Two-year technical degree in HVAC or IT related studies preferred, or equivalent work related experience. OR Completed HVAC apprenticeship program. OR Associate degree, or equivalent work-related experience. Experience
Two or more years of related work experience required, including mechanical service-based knowledge. Other technical experience such as military, on-the-job training programs, etc., may meet this requirement as determined by local management. Physical Demands / Working Environment
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Normal office environment with periods of time spent on construction sites and occupied customer facilities. Requires travel to job sites with periods of overnight travel. Frequent activity: sitting, viewing computer screen. Occasional activity: standing, walking, bending, reaching above shoulder, climbing ladders. Safety-sensitive position that requires extreme focus and attention to safety hazards and safety protocols.
