Required Experience: 16 years Interviews: Webcam Only Job Description: The client is seeking an experienced IT Consultant to support the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of an enterprise Big Data solution as part of the Data Modernization Effort. This role provides expertise to develop a Big Data/Data Lake architecture supporting enterprise data operations for the District of Columbia government, including IoT/Smart City projects, enterprise data warehouse, open data portal, and data science applications. The architecture includes Databricks, Microsoft Azure tools (Data Lake, Synapse), and data pipeline/ETL tools (Streamsets, Azure Data Factory). It will be designed for district-wide use and integration with other enterprise data tools such as Esri, Tableau, MicroStrategy, API Gateways, and Oracle databases. Coordinate IT project management, engineering, maintenance, QA, and risk management. Plan, coordinate, and monitor project activities. Develop technical applications to support users. Develop, implement, maintain, and enforce standards and procedures for system design, development, installation, and documentation. Provide training on system products and procedures. Perform application upgrades. Monitor and report on real-time databases, network, serial data communications, graphics, and logic applications. Troubleshoot problems. Ensure project lifecycle compliance with district standards and procedures. Skills and Experience: At least 5 years experience with Big Data storage and analytics platforms like Databricks and Data Lakes. Knowledge of modern Big Data and Data Architecture best practices for at least 5 years. Experience with networking, security, and storage architecture on Microsoft Azure cloud platforms for at least 5 years. Deployment of data tools and storage on Azure for at least 5 years. Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, ArcGIS, Kibana, Oracle for at least 5 years. Querying structured and unstructured data sources using SQL and NoSQL databases for at least 5 years. Modeling and ingesting data through Data Pipelines for at least 5 years. API / Web Services (REST/SOAP) experience for at least 3 years. Experience with complex event processing and real-time streaming data for at least 3 years. Deployment and management of data science tools like JupyterHub for at least 3 years. ETL, data processing, and analytics using Python, Java, or R for at least 3 years. Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional. Experience with Cloudera Data Platform for at least 3 years. Over 16 years experience in project planning, coordination, and monitoring.
