CDSS Case Management - Program Coordinator 100% Onsite - Los Angeles 90056 What We're Looking For: We are seeking a Program Coordinator to lead the operations of the CDSS department to achieve program goals, while managing and providing direct support to department supervisors. The Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for CDDS program oversight and working with department supervisors to ensure contract compliance with the California Department of Education child care subsidy contracts. The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities: Program and Contract Oversight
Provide program oversight including review of all proposed contract changes, provide input to funders regarding the impact of proposed changes on customer service and workload; ensure contract is implemented as required by the CDSS. Analyze key program indicators to ensure program viability. Plan and implement strategies that are in line with agency goals, contract requirements and will increase productivity. Serve as the agency representative for CDSS. Develop lines of communication with external stakeholders (CDSS, LA Alliance agencies, CAPPA etc.) and represent program and agency at professional organizations, community meetings, trainings, and meetings with funding agencies. Ensure quality customer service at every level within the department. Develop reward incentives for staff who consistently demonstrate higher levels of quality customer service, while maintaining program standards. Work as a liaison with other departments, facilitate inter-departmental communication regarding general work with other departments. Perform other duties as assigned. Unit Supervision Supervise, mentor and guide department supervisors, identify staff development and training needs. Provide direction, leadership and coaching to department supervisors by conducting periodic check-ins. Ensure that performance goals are set and met using performance expectations and standards that have been clearly communicated to staff. Resolve conflicts effectively and follow disciplinary procedures, and conduct fair and impartial performance appraisals using agency policies and procedures. Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities You Should Possess:
Bachelor of Science/Arts degree from an accredited university in Health Education, Social Services, or related field; relevant work experience in human services/health education/child development may be substituted for college level education. Minimum 3-5 years supervisory experience managing a staff of at least 4-8 people required. 1-2 years demonstrated experience increasing workflow processes, work effectiveness and compliance within a department. Knowledge of the child care subsidy contracts which are funded by the California Department of Education and the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Social Services. Must have excellent leadership, communication and customer relations skills. Must be flexible and able to multi-task while working in a collaborative, team environment with a positive attitude. Must have excellent presentation/public speaking and organizational skills. Requires proficiency in computer word processing and spreadsheet programs, including MS Office. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Requires ability to problem-solve, prioritize and delegate workflow, and the ability to develop systems which ensure work completion and increase work performance in all core work areas within the department. Requires the ability to work collaboratively and productively with diverse groups of individuals.
