The Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning (WDLL) Department of Middlesex College invites applications for part-time, non-credit instructors to teach the following course:
- Sterile Processing Technician
Primary Responsibilities: The ability to teach a program of 140 hours of classroom training and 400 hours of clinical rotations at a sponsoring facility.
- Provides training and development in Sterile Processing techniques and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with applicable health, life safety, infection control, and environmental regulation.
- Monitors student performance and provides guidance as necessary.
- Maintains classroom/clinical site order and discipline. Ensures compliance with host facilities requirements.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three years of Sterile processing experience
- Possess and maintain:
- Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
- Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER)
- Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS)
- Previous experience teaching the subject matter to adult learners
- Ability to teach at locations in Middlesex and neighboring counties
- Associate Degree
- Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL)
Supplemental Information:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
Please include day, evening and/or Saturday availability in your application. This will be a daytime position. WDLL is current seeking a Sterile Processing Technician instructor to teach in person, days at the Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth Amboy campuses.
