Position Overview
As the
CMT Department Manager
for the Jacksonville office, you will play a pivotal role in building and leading a high-performing team, managing operations, and driving business development. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a new office backed by the resources and reputation of a thriving company.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the CMT department, including technicians, project managers, and administrative staff. Oversee daily operations, ensuring quality control, safety compliance, and timely project delivery. Develop and implement strategic plans to grow the Jacksonville office's CMT services. Build and maintain strong client relationships with contractors, developers, and public agencies. Collaborate with other department heads (Geotechnical, Environmental, Inspections) to deliver integrated solutions. Recruit, train, and mentor staff to support both technical excellence and career development. Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability. Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASTM, AASHTO, FDOT) and company protocols. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum 7 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Professional Engineer (P.E) License preferred. Strong knowledge of laboratory and field testing procedures for soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates. Proven track record of managing teams and growing departmental revenue. Excellent communication, organizational, and client management skills. Familiarity with FDOT and other Florida regulatory requirements is a plus.
