Maine Veterans' Homes

CNA Training Program
provides the opportunity to take a CNA course, at no cost, while working in a full-time Unit Helper position. Maine Veterans' Homes pays for your CNA certification, class time, as well as work time. After completion of the CNA course, and certification is obtained, you will then transition to a CNA position. After participation in this program, we ask for at the least one year of full-time employment.

Requirements
High school diploma or GED Must be able to read at the 10th grade level and pass a written English exam demonstrating this. Requires proficiency in spoken and written English. Ability to understand and respond to residents' needs and inquiries in English is required. Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing, in English, is required. Basic computer skills
Participants must meet the following criteria to be accepted in the 'Earn While You Learn' CNA Training Program: Complete interview with Clinical Instructor Complete a Pre-Hire Employment Screening Complete CASAS Reading/Comprehension
