Our client, a leading professional services firm specializing in Commissioning, Engineering, and Owner's Representation for mission critical facilities, is seeking a Senior Electrical Commissioning Specialist eager to grow both personally and professionally. With a team that combines deep expertise in engineering, installation, commissioning, and operations, the firm is uniquely positioned to address the evolving demands of complex mission critical systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mission critical design principles and hands-on experience with the commissioning and operation of critical electrical equipment, including switchgear, substations, UPS systems, ATS units, batteries, diesel generators, SCADA, EPMS, and load banks. This role leads the electrical commissioning process from planning to turnover, serving as a key liaison between project stakeholders while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates
must
hold an engineering degree, CxA certification, be a U.S. citizen, and eligible for TS clearance. Strong leadership skills and a willingness to work in the field as needed are essential.
Critical Skills and Knowledge: • Must have Knowledge of OSHA (or equivalent) safety requirements. *Design Review and Script Writing experience is required. • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single line drawings and protective device coordination studies. • Knowledge of Mission Critical design concepts and Critical Operation Facilities; Knowledge of Electrical Distribution Switchgear, Substations, Uninterruptable Power Sources (UPS), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Batteries, Emergency Diesel Generators and Load Banks; Knowledge of power quality analysis. • Strong experience with the Microsoft Suite. Must be able to effectively create final products Microsoft programs. General
Education and Experience Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. *Have or be able to obtain TS Security Clearance. *Design Review and Script Writing experience is required. • Commissioning or related experience with electrical systems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisitions (SCADA) and/or Electrical Power Monitoring Supply (EPMS), Fire Alarm, and lighting controls. • Experience with building construction or construction related degree such as construction management. • Commissioning Certification required, one or more of the following CxA, NEBB, ACG, BCxA, ASHRAE BCxP, or ability to acquire within two months of employment. • Registered Engineering Intern (EI) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
Physical Requirements: bility to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally the employee may be required to lift more than 50 pounds. • Ability to respond to sounds and visual terrain. • Ability to see dangerous situations. • Regular use of hands. • Note: our client follows all ADA Requirements
