Title : SQL Server DBA Location : Oklahoma City, OK Duration : 12+ months (with possible extension) Client : State of OK, Office of Management Enterprise Services (1025)
Description: Job Includes the design, development, maintenance, security administration, capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, upgrade, backup and recovery and troubleshooting of databases to ensure the availability, integrity, confidentiality and security of information.
Qualifications
Duties are below; Design and implement on-line databases, security access systems, data sets and jobs; Define parameters for file or space utilization, establish direct access files or other file configurations as required;monitor space utilization and make modifications as needed. Create queries, stored procedures, functions and other database objects; perform other data management processes utilizing database protocols. Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments. Provide applications development and other unit personnel with database and data security information required to support application development and other activities. Support repository/database dictionary requirements and activities Develop, implement, and monitor control blocks and data definitions to support databases Install and modify vendor software products, conduct appropriate tests to insure compatibility of new or modified programs with operating system requirements Use database performance and tuning tools in order to monitor and enhance response time and system performance. Confer with computer operations, technical support, user and vendor representatives concerning database requirements, system performance, software maintenance capacity planning and data security requirements. Review system specifications for compliance with departmental, division and database administration standards. Respond to database operational emergencies as required including database recoveries involving the use of database log files which provide for the recovery of databases with no loss of data and which do not require the user to reenter data into the database.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities;
Knowledge of the creation, maintenance of databases and database objects Knowledge of repository/data dictionary systems, data security systems and database maintenance utilities. Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements. Basic problem solving skills, basic critical thinking skills, and attention to detail. Ability to listen, learn, and adapt to change. Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment. Ability to work in a deadline oriented environment under direct supervision. Ability to produce an accurate, timely and quality work product. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external clients. Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work in a deadline oriented environment with general supervision. Ability to resolve and prevent database integrity and performance problems.
