Chief Operating Officer - 3PL
Our client seeks a driven, business-savvy COO to oversee daily operations across multiple branch locations, including management of sales and operations teams, hiring initiatives, and P&L responsibilities. The COO should have relevant leadership experience and will play a critical role in refining, designing, and aligning operational efficiencies and strategic management to support organizational growth. The ideal candidate is an innovative problem solver who can manage branch operations independently and develop a compelling vision for the company's future.
Job Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Oversee approximately 3 direct reports.
- Manage multiple, independent branch locations, focusing on sales and operational efficiencies, including hiring, process development, and financial management.
- Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, training, and employee development.
- Streamline, improve, and implement processes across branches.
- Oversee resource allocation and operational planning, including headcount forecasting, hiring prioritization, and evaluating new office locations.
- Develop and monitor measurable key performance indicators, business plans, and goals.
- Coordinate activities aligned with growth objectives and company policies.
- Participate in developing short-term and long-term plans and budgets based on organizational goals.
- Foster a positive, productive work environment focused on growth.
Experience:
- Progressive leadership experience, with at least 8-10+ years in a C-level or executive role, preferably within transportation, logistics, or related industries.
- Experience in produce, refrigerated logistics, or temperature-controlled freight is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with McLeod or similar TMS software is a plus.
- Proven track record of driving operational growth and scalability, including leading organizational expansion.
- Hands-on experience with process improvements and operational frameworks.
- Strong change management skills and the ability to implement cross-functional changes.
- Strategic thinker capable of connecting high-level vision with daily operations.
- Highly analytical with sound judgment and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal, leadership, analytical, listening, and written communication skills.
