MAJOR FUNCTION :
The Magnet Pathway to Excellence Clinical Program Coordinator manages, structures and processes integral to the development/sustainment of a Magnet and Pathway to Excellence Culture and excellence in nursing sensitive indicators/patient outcomes. Assists the Magnet Program Director by acting as the primary liaison to Performance Improvement Teams across the network. The Clinical Program Coordinator elevates the practice of nursing through facilitations and involvement in: clinical orientation, unit-level Evidence-based Practice (EBP) projects, peer review. As the site and survey coordinator for nursing sensitive quality indicators, this role collaborates with nursing leadership and quality analytics teams in the collection, analysis and dissemination of nurse sensitive indictor data. Manages the assessment of Magnet or other nursing recognition program gap analysis and proposes action plans for identified gaps in collaboration with the Magnet Director.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education & Experience: Graduate of an approved RN nursing program. Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Two (2) years of prior nursing/clinical leadership (i.e., ANM/Outcomes Manager level or higher). Expertise with Nursing Sensitive Indicator Data processing (including use of Excel) and the EBP Process are required. Magnet and/or Pathway to Excellence designation participation experience required. Certification/Licensure:
Current licensure with New Jersey State Board of Nursing. Professional National nursing certification preferred. Current BLS competency required. Knowledge & Skills:
Demonstrates proficiency with computer applications including electronic medical record and nursing documentation (ex. Cerner Millenium), excel spreadsheets, word-processing, graphic, and presentation software. Is organized, self-directed, detail oriented. Works independently to accomplish objectives. Uses time effectively as demonstrated by productivity, ability to track multiple projects to conclusion and completion of assignments by scheduled deadline. Uses clinical knowledge to prioritize and responds to urgent situations promptly and appropriately. Written presentations (memos, letters, reports, etc.) are well thought out, concise and appropriate to intended audience. Public speaking presentations and group interactions demonstrate confidence, advance preparation and ability to maintain poise under pressure. Uses appropriate interpersonal skills to achieve desired outcomes: listens, clarifies, develops solutions collaboratively, takes appropriate actions and follows-up. Demonstrates the ability to retain, build upon and apply knowledge and experience gained through work-related interactions and assignments. Promotes nursing professional development by supporting national specialty certification, the 80% BSN plan, and the Clinical Ladder. Supports the development and delivery of educational programs which seek to improve performance in nursing sensitive quality indicators. Physical Requirements: N: Never O: Occasionally ( 80%)
