AdventHealth Shawnee Mission The community you’ll be caring for: Our newest hospital in the Kansas City metro area — AdventHealth Lenexa City Center — will include around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, and inpatient beds for medical-surgical and short-stay units. The new campus will include: 244,000 square feet Capacity for 98 beds (44 upon opening and 54 for future expansion) Four operating rooms (two upon opening and two for future dates) Responsibilities include ensuring patients are appropriately registered for all service lines, performing eligibility verification, obtaining pre-certifications and authorizations, making financial arrangements, requesting and receiving payments, performing cashiering functions, clearing registration errors, editing pre-bills, and other duties as required. Maintains a close working relationship with clinical partners to ensure open communication between clinical, ancillary, and patient access departments. Actively participates in providing exemplary service to internal and external customers and maintains respectful relationships. Provides PBX (switchboard) coverage and support as needed. The value you’ll bring to the team: Verifies medical necessity according to CMS standards and communicates coverage/eligibility information to patients. Alerts physicians to insurance verification issues. Minimizes duplication of medical records by verifying patient identity through demographic details. Registers patients for all services and achieves department accuracy goals. Creates accurate estimates to maximize up-front cash collections and documents collections where required. Calculates patients’ co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance, providing personalized estimates of financial responsibility based on insurance. The expertise and experience needed: High school diploma or equivalent 1-2 years of related experience
