Data Analyst – Knowledge Management STATUS:
Non-Exempt Type:
Full Time The Data Analyst will support the Innovation/Knowledge Management department in leveraging data to improve the firm’s information architecture, knowledge sharing, and operational efficiency across the firm. This role will work cross-functionally with attorneys, various departments, and other stakeholders to extract, analyze, and visualize data that informs strategic decisions and enhances knowledge-based initiatives. This position is located in Raleigh, NC and requires regular presence in the office. Primary Responsibilities: Analyze large data sets from timekeeping, matter management, experience tracking, and document systems to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities. Design and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as SQL, Power BI, or Excel to deliver actionable insights. Collaborate with attorneys and business professionals to support innovation and KM initiatives using data-backed approaches. Develop and refine data models to support metrics around legal service delivery, matter profiling, and staffing optimization. Assist in evaluating the success and impact of Innovation projects and knowledge platforms using quantitative and qualitative metrics. Clean, transform, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability. Support ad hoc data requests and develop scalable solutions to recurring analysis needs. Research and evaluate new technology and help make decisions on the cost-benefit analysis of new purchases. Partner with IT and Data Governance teams to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with firm policies. Create, maintain, and develop project plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). Contribute to the Innovation/Knowledge Management department’s strategic planning and initiatives. Knowledge and Experience: 2+ years of experience in data analytics or a related role. Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into business insights. Familiarity with legal industry tools is a plus. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for improving legal service delivery through data.
