GovCIO is currently seeking a Database/Systems Specialist (Remote) to become a subject matter expert on our team. This position is fully remote, full time and available to candidates within the Continental United States (CONUS). The contract has not been awarded; this position remains unfunded and is contingent upon the award of the contract. Responsibilities
Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates, and installs database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management. Uses data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases. Determines data storage and optimum storage requirements. Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation. May assist with data migration efforts. Designs and codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools. Develops, maintains and modifies existing database/system. Analyzes detailed systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution. Performs modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures. Participates in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications. Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards. Evaluates, sizes and selects technology components, such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities, for database management systems and application databases. Develops, maintains, evaluates and documents administration of database tools and strategies. Designs and implements data models and data access layers for new product functionality. Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience) Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance Minimum of 8 years of experience working as an Oracle Developer and Oracle Expert (assist others); PL/SQL and SQL scripting Minimum of 3 years working in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, DevOps) Understanding Unix resource and shell scripting and ability to design and discuss application architecture and design patterns when necessary. Strong problem solver with the ability to quickly resolve technical and user issues. Excellent oral communicator with good writing and presentation skills. Self-starter with demonstrable initiative and follow through skills. Highly analytical and proven problem-solving abilities. Ability to conduct independent research to lead or support the resolution of complex questions and issues. Full understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle. Demonstrated experience planning and managing multiple tasks. Ability to identify/monitor space requirements for Oracle databases in development and production environments.
