Job Title: Die Setter
Plastic Injection Molding (Automotive Manufacturing) Location: Grand Rapids, MI Job Type: Full-Time 2nd and 3rd shift available Pay: $18/hr Job Summary: We are currently seeking an experienced and dependable Die Setter to join our team at a fast-paced automotive plastic injection molding facility. The Die Setter is responsible for safely setting up and changing molds on injection molding machines to ensure efficient production runs and high-quality parts. Key Responsibilities: Set up, install, and remove injection molds/dies on machines according to production schedules Ensure proper alignment, clamping, and operation of molds Assist with machine startups and troubleshooting during changeovers Perform basic maintenance on molds, including cleaning and minor repairs Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure parts meet customer specifications Follow safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols during mold changes Maintain accurate setup records and update process documentation as needed Operate forklifts or overhead cranes to move molds and equipment (training provided if necessary) Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required 1+ year of experience in die/mold setting for plastic injection molding preferred Familiarity with automotive industry standards and quality expectations Ability to read and understand blueprints and work instructions Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a manufacturing environment Forklift or crane certification is a plus (or willing to obtain) Benefits: Competitive hourly wage with overtime opportunities Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Ongoing training and opportunities for advancement Stable, long-term opportunity in the automotive industry
