Description
Safely sets up and adjusts molding machines in an accurate and timely manner so that parts meet customer requirements as per T.S.16949, and ISO14001-E.M.S. systems, with direction from supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
All functions will be completed as per the plant's TS 16949 and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) systems.
1. Sets up molding machines by positioning molds, aligning die matrix, connecting hoses, etc. for continuous production as per F.P.A.
2. Adjusts machine control settings to regulate forming pressure, curing time, etc. so that quality parts are consistent as per F.P.A. form.
3. Examines tooling and adjusts machine settings according to the verification sheet, and/or loaded programming from IMM, so that time can be saved, and lower defects achieved on start-up procedures.
4. Start machine and verify correct operation to allow accurate and timely function of tooling, so that delivery dates are met. Follow F.P.A. form to help perform this function.
5. Shut down machine by performing proper lock-out procedures, removing dies, purging material, etc. so that new orders are safely started with minimal down time.
6. Completes required documentation in an accurate and timely manner so that production start-up processes are consistent as per F.P.A. form.
7. Ensure safety and housekeeping standards are met through the completion of the F.P.A. form.
8. When all of the Section A has been completed, and closed from the Die-set on the F.P.A. form, then following T.S.16949 system, and ISO14001-E.M.S. system should be follow through to the Shift Supervisor.
9. Complete additional work assigned to them, by their Supervisor, and or Management Team.
Physical Demands: Standing - required on concrete floor Sitting - required only when operating the fork lift Walking - sometimes required between machines and tool storage area Lifting - sometimes up to 75 lbs from floor to shoulder Pushing/pulling - frequently required (shoulder and above) when moving molds; sometimes necessary (waist level) when pushing a die cart

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
High school diploma or equivalent. One to three years' experience as a Material Handler preferred. Valid State Drivers License and passing grade on Power Industrial Truck Test, truck crane qualification, and passing grade on overhead crane operator's test.
