Overview
Operations & Service Management • Ensure 24x7x365 uptime of data center operations and compliance with SLAs. • Oversee ITIL-based service delivery processes including incident, change, problem, and capacity management. • Optimize and enforce operational workflows to improve uptime, performance, and service delivery. • Implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems for proactive issue resolution. Infrastructure & Facility Oversight • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of servers, networking, storage, and power systems. • Manage capacity planning and ensure sufficient cooling, power, and space for growth. • Ensure optimal PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) and energy efficiency across facilities. • Lead design and execution of data center builds, migrations, or relocations.
Governance, Risk & Compliance • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS). • Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans. • Mitigate risks by applying best practices in physical and cyber security. • Oversee vendor and contract management, including SLAs, negotiations, and audits.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement • Stay current with emerging data center technologies including edge computing, modular builds, and green IT. • Champion automation initiatives (e.g., using DCIM tools, AI-driven monitoring, Infrastructure as Code). • Evaluate and adopt hybrid/cloud strategies where applicable. • Implement KPIs, metrics, and dashboards to monitor and report on performance and efficiency.
Qualifications
Required: • Minimum 20 years of professional experience in data center operations, with at least 10 years in a leadership role. • Strong expertise in managing enterprise-class data center environments (multi-tenant or large-scale). • Proven experience with critical infrastructure systems (HVAC, UPS, generators, fire suppression, Client). • Deep knowledge of network infrastructure, storage systems, virtualization, and high availability systems. • Familiarity with DCIM platforms, ITSM tools, and automation/orchestration frameworks.
Preferred: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. • Certifications such as CDCP, CDCS, CDCE, ITIL v4, PMP, or equivalent. • Experience in managing hybrid cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP). • Experience with sustainability practices and environmental certifications (e.g., LEED, Energy Star).
