Position Overview The Director of Data Management and Analytics drives the data architecture strategy across the organization. This role is a subject matter expert in data architecture, translating business needs into technical specifications, providing research, data analysis, and delivery options to support data-driven solutions. The leader maintains excellent communication with business partners, builds relationships, and anticipates user needs. Responsibilities include system architecture recommendations, solution development, requirements gathering, design, data source mapping, development, testing, implementation, and support.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement data management strategies.
Manage all data requests across business units, track progress, and maintain stakeholder relations.
Lead a team of database and Power BI developers.
Leverage data modeling and AI tools.
Manage data quality and accuracy.
Oversee data storage and retrieval.
Conduct data analysis to identify insights for business decisions.
Determine budgets for staff and resources.
Gather and verify requirements, conduct testing, and troubleshoot.
Transfer data, knowledge, and best practices to support strategic needs.
Mentor and train team members.
Document and maintain data warehouse and procedures.
Create and automate operational reports.
Coordinate with departments on data methodologies and solutions.
Create and present data visualizations.
Communicate insights and project goals effectively.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience designing data management solutions for ecommerce, sales, accounting, and warehousing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to see the big picture.
Background in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modeling) and data mining.
Proven experience as a SQL Developer or Data Scientist.
Experience designing cloud solutions (PaaS/SaaS) for compute, storage, and data connectivity.
Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Synapse and Fabric technologies.
Knowledge of SDLC, ITSM, privacy, and security concepts.
Strong project management skills.
Technical documentation skills.
Application development experience, including requirements analysis, design, testing, and support.
Excellent communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
Interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
Collaborative leadership skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Management, or related field, with at least 7 years of relevant experience in data architecture and solution development, especially in consumer products or ecommerce.
Work Schedule
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm CST, with possible extended hours.
On-call availability for emergencies from home.
