Position Overview
The Assistant Director of Grounds, Facilities & Event Management Operations reports to the grounds management unit leader. The role supports the maintenance of athletic fields and grounds, oversees athletic facilities, and manages events within the department.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support and scheduled maintenance for athletic fields, grounds, and designated areas.
- Supervise and coordinate the preparation and protection of athletic fields for intercollegiate and special events.
- Participate in the Events Management team to ensure safe, efficient, and successful event operations.
- Manage assigned athletic facilities, including scheduling, security, and oversight of maintenance and custodial services.
- Ensure proper custodial and maintenance services by engaging service providers.
- Develop and implement event management plans for facilities in collaboration with leadership.
- Represent UH Athletics positively as an ambassador.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requires a thorough understanding of professional disciplines, obtained through a 4-year degree or equivalent specialized training. A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required. The department is open to considering education in lieu of experience and vice versa.
