SALARY (A-E Steps)
District Attorney Investigator I: $35.29 - $42.89 Hourly
District Attorney Investigator II: $40.90 - $47.35 Hourly
About the Position: Conducts investigations pertaining to criminal and/or civil cases, or other special assignments as necessary. Prepares and maintains related records and reports. This position will be primarily assigned to TCDSS security but may be reassigned as necessary.
Examples of Essential Functions (Illustrative Only):
Conducts criminal and civil investigations as assigned.
Reviews and analyzes reports, documentation, financial records, photographs, statements, and physical evidence; interviews witnesses and suspects; conducts surveillance; serves subpoenas.
Attends meetings and training as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

District Attorney Investigator I
District Attorney Investigator II
Qualifications: Any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. Typically:
High school diploma or equivalent; other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
For Investigator I:
Six to ten years of experience in criminal justice or investigatory field.
For Investigator II:
Three years of full-time investigative experience, preferably as a DA Investigator I or similar role.
License & Requirements:
Valid California driver’s license.
Investigator I: POST basic law enforcement certificate; must recertify within six months if expired.
Investigator II: POST intermediate law enforcement certificate.
The department is recruiting for multiple extra help vacancies and establishing an eligibility list for future vacancies.
