We are currently seeking a
Systems Analyst/ IT Manager
with deep expertise in
MAPICS/XA (Series 1)
to join a manufacturing client that is in the midst of a major IT evolution. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the charge in modernizing legacy systems while continuing to support and enhance those currently in place.
This position is both
strategic and tactical —ideal for someone who can balance long-term modernization goals with hands-on support and enhancements of critical ERP processes. The selected candidate will work cross-functionally across production, supply chain, inventory, and finance, acting as a key bridge between business processes and technology.
Responsibilities:
Support, maintain, and enhance the MAPICS/XA Series 1 ERP system, including modules for Manufacturing, Inventory Management, Purchasing, Finance, and Production Planning. Partner with operations, engineering, and finance teams to gather requirements, analyze workflows, and develop ERP solutions that optimize efficiency and data accuracy. Lead configuration changes, customizations, and interface development within MAPICS/XA to meet evolving business needs. Troubleshoot and resolve issues while collaborating with internal teams and external vendors. Create reports, queries, and data extracts using tools like SQL, Query/400, or IBM i (AS/400) utilities. Assist in planning and executing system upgrades, patches, and documentation efforts. Train end users on new functionalities and support daily ERP operations. Ensure data integrity, system security, and adherence to internal IT policies and controls.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field—or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years supporting MAPICS/XA (Series 1) in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and how they map to ERP functions (MRP, BOM, routing, scheduling, etc.). Experience with IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform. Working knowledge of tools such as SQL, Query/400, RPG, or CL is beneficial. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Experience:
Background in discrete manufacturing industries (injection molding, assembly, sheet metal, etc.). Experience integrating MAPICS/XA with systems such as MES or CRM. Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma practices. Knowledge of NIST, DFARS, or FAR compliance is a plus.
This is a
leadership role
for someone ready to take ownership of critical ERP systems while helping shape the future direction of IT within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
