Coverage Needed:
- Start Date: February 1, 2026
- 24-hour hospital-based call with a 7-on/7-off rotation, covering both daytime consults and overnight call from 5 PM to 7 AM
- Cover two campuses
Clinical Details:
- Practice Setting: Adult, Inpatient/Hospital-based acute care, 24-hour call
- Average Number of Scheduled Patients Per Day: 15-20 (clinic), 5 (hospital-based)
- Onsite Lab & X-Ray
- Documentation System/EMR: Cerner
- Trauma Level/Designation: Level 2
- Required Procedures:
- Lower GI Endoscopy
- Sigmoidoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry
- Esophageal Manometry Interpretation
- Small Bowel Biopsy
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
- Insertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube
- Upper GI Endoscopy Procedures:
- With Biopsy
- With Foreign Body Removal
- With Fulguration of Bleeder (Cautery or Laser)
- With Injection or Banding of Varices
- With ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
- Diagnostic and Therapeutic
- With PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy)
Requirements:
- Board Certification in Gastroenterology
- New Jersey License (or willingness to obtain) - Highly preferred
- Proficiency in advanced GI procedures (including ERCP, EUS)
- Experience with Cerner EMR - Preferred
- Must be comfortable working in a Level 2 trauma center
