Engine Development is calibration development, mechanical experiments, fabrication and manual test points to run getting the engine to 60% calibrated and then send it to Engine Validation to test and ultimate take it to a failure state. Responsibilities: Mechanical swapping of engine components working hand in hand with engineers to test different combinations of engine for optimum performance Will work in laboratory setting using AVL/PUMA and emissions equipment Will work on engine tuning and calibration using software such as HP Tuners or standalone systems Will run and operate manual testing on a dyno Will work with a Test Engineer to manipulate fuel tables, air-intake, spark and exhaust to find optimum performance on test engines Will do work at the component level including components like oil pumps, head or cam changes, fuel injectors, spark plugs - almost anything. Assembly/Modification and/or Fabrication to existing Engines to prep for testing Fabricate components on engine and test stand/dynos for testing Instrumentations between the engine and they dyno TIG Weld parts and components Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr.
