Engineering Technician III (LINUX) - SCADA Systems
Location: 100 % On-site | Downtown Los Angeles, CA (Near Union Station)
Pay: Up to $60/HR
6-Month Temp Assignment (Potential to convert)
Monday-Friday (44/36 schedule with every other Friday off)
Position Overview:

In this role, you will provide hands-on operational support of SCADA systems, troubleshoot software/hardware issues, and work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain a secure, high-performing SCADA network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily operations support for SCADA systems and applications.
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve SCADA server and desktop application issues.
- Administer and manage Linux-based SCADA infrastructure.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain Linux OS images and system updates.
- Manage infrastructure automation tools and satellite servers.
- Collaborate with IT, project management, and SCADA network/security teams.
- Maintain security controls and support tools such as SolarWinds and Sophos.
- Work within virtual environments and support virtualized infrastructure.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum two years of accredited college or university in engineering or related field.
- Six years of relevant experience, including at least two years at the Engineering Technician II level.
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux administration in a production environment.
- Experience in SCADA systems, infrastructure automation, and controller management.
- Proficiency in tools such as SolarWinds, Sophos, and Linux-based imaging and deployment tools.
- Valid California driver's license required; Defensive Driver Certification may be required if selected.
Required Certifications (Must be current):
- RHCSA - Red Hat Certified System Administrator
- CompTIA Linux+
- LPIC-2 - Linux Engineer Certification
- LFCS - Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator
