This posting is for 2 CO-OPs, one starting in Fall 2025 and one starting Summer 2026. The rotations would be as follows:
Rotation 1 - Fall 2025; Rotation 2 - Summer 2026; and Rotation 3 - Spring 2027
Rotation 1 - Spring 2026; Rotation 2 - Fall 2026; and Rotation 3 - Summer 2027
COOPs support a department of engineers in test preparation and execution, data analysis, and data presentation. Students will also work in close cooperation with a variety of engineers, as well as laboratory and machine shop personnel, in order to accomplish tasks vital to the success of projects. Depending on the team assigned responsibilities may include:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assessment of aerospace composites, ceramics, and alloys Design of test hardware using solid modeling software. Test preparation including drawings, text requests, and documentation. Data collection, analysis, and reporting. Laboratory test method development. SOLIDWORKS design and modifications. 3D printing support Additive Manufacturing support Prototyping support as well as computer programming and hardware integration activities. Perform other duties and assist other employees, as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualifications U. S. Citizen Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Completed freshman year in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics or other related field. Strong analytical and creative problem-solving capabilities Ability to work well with others in a dynamic environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Self-motivated to continually expand knowledge and skills related to this position.
Preferred Qualifications Completed sophomore year in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or another related field. Programming experience Experience with additive manufacturing/3D printing Completed physics I, calculus I, and mechanics of materials
