Enterprise Network Engineer
to join its high-performing engineering team. This
hybrid role , based just outside of
Albany, NY , is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned network professional with extensive experience in enterprise-scale design and implementation.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, this position offers the opportunity to lead cutting-edge network projects, provide strategic consulting to enterprise clients, and play a key role in pre-sales engineering and solution architecture. It requires a deep understanding of complex network systems, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-impact solutions.
Responsibilities of the
Enterprise Network Engineer
will include:
Enterprise Architecture & Design:
Lead the planning, architecture, and deployment of large-scale, multi-site network environments-including data center, cloud, WAN, wireless, and security infrastructures. Client Advisory & Consulting:
Serve as a trusted technical advisor, aligning network strategy with client business needs and compliance requirements. Pre-Sales Engineering:
Partner with the sales team to scope client needs, conduct technical discovery sessions, develop architectural solutions, and present proposals. Technical Leadership:
Define and enforce standards, best practices, and reference architectures. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to ongoing skills development. Security Architecture:
Design secure network infrastructures using principles such as zero-trust, network segmentation, and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, PCI, SOX). Network Automation:
Utilize tools like Ansible, Python, and modern monitoring platforms to automate operations and enhance visibility and reliability. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Engage with project managers, solution architects, and client stakeholders to ensure successful, on-time project delivery. Industry Engagement:
Stay abreast of networking trends and innovations. Participate in vendor discussions, industry forums, and professional webinars. Job Requirements
Qualifications of the
Enterprise Network Engineer:
10+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade network solutions Proven consulting experience with executive-level communication in large enterprise or Fortune 1000 environments Strong background in pre-sales support, solution development, and project leadership Advanced knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN, NAC, network segmentation, and wireless technologies Experience with Fortinet (NGFW, SD-WAN, NAC) and/or Arista (EVPN-VXLAN, CloudVision, spine-leaf architectures) Familiarity with network automation and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible, Python, and Terraform Preferred certifications: Fortinet FCP / NSE 8, Arista ACE Level 3, CCIE, JNCIE, CISSP, or other equivalent credentials Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational skills Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (due to compliance with export control regulations) Willingness to travel up to 25% A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership Ability to blend technical excellence with strategic thinking Passion for mentoring and growing engineering talent Clear and confident communication with both technical and business audiences Commitment to staying current with the latest technologies and industry best practices
Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $175,000 - $225,000.
