Job Description
This position is an opportunity to shape new products from scratch and improve existing ones. The candidate will work closely with customers to develop system concepts, technical requirements, and product specifications. Following, the candidate oversees systems design throughout the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Architecture development, interface definition, system modelling, algorithm development, data analysis, and trade studies
Provide technical leadership throughout the development lifecycle
Progress reporting to management and customer representatives
Support systems integration and customer trial activities
Generation of technical requirements and specifications, requirement management, compliance traceability and verification
Provide technical directions to subject matter experts including mechanical, electrical, software transducer and signal processing engineers
Requirements
Master's degree in electrical engineering or bachelor's degree EE plus 5 years' experience as systems engineer
Excellent analytical skills
Experience in developing computer-based performance models in MATLAB to support system concept/design definition.
Strong oral and written communications skills including presenting to customers and senior leadership
US Citizenship required and ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
Preferred Skills
Masters's Degree in electrical engineering
Experience with underwater acoustic positioning systems for tracking and navigation
Understanding of underwater acoustic principles
Understanding of electronic systems with embedded SW applications
