Leidos is seeking a
Site-Civil Engineer
to join our site/civil department in our growing Chicago and/or Portland office to work on a variety of electric utility projects. This is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic, energetic, and talented person to join a team of outstanding professionals and apply the latest technology to solve challenging problems. Typical projects involve site/civil design engineering for utility projects, with experience in commercial/industrial site development or roadway development considered. The candidate will primarily function as a senior engineer, conducting design reviews, developing junior staff, and contributing to bids and proposals. Responsibilities include overseeing work on client projects, ensuring quality control, and conducting site visits and travel as needed. The role requires compliance with quality and safety standards, and the position will be based in Chicago, IL or Portland, OR, with hybrid or remote options.
Key Tasks include: 1. Land development permitting and regulatory compliance 2. Site data research and analysis 3. Site layout, grading, and drainage design 4. Stormwater modeling and design 5. Erosion, sediment control, and access road design 6. Utility coordination and design 7. Retaining wall layout and design 8. Supporting calculations and quantity take-offs 9. Construction drawings, specifications, and field engineering 10. Collaboration with other disciplines
Required Experience & Education: - B.S. in Civil Engineering - Minimum 2 years of relevant civil-site design experience - P.E. license preferred - Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation OpenSite Designer - Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and related tools - Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills - Ability to work independently and with clients - Willingness to travel up to 25% - Authorized to work in the U.S.
