The FTPC MES Architect will be responsible for the design, architecture, and implementation of Factory Transformation & Process Control (FTPC) Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to enable smart manufacturing initiatives. The FTPC MES Architect will be responsible for the design, architecture, and implementation of Factory Transformation & Process Control (FTPC) Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to enable smart manufacturing initiatives. This role will bridge IT and OT domains to ensure seamless MES deployment aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design:
Define and document MES architecture and system landscape for FTPC projects.
Design scalable, modular MES solutions aligned with ISA 95 and Industry 4.0 standards.
Integrate MES with ERP, SCADA, PLC, Historian, IIoT, and other IT/OT systems.
Project Leadership:
Lead MES architecture workstreams in FTPC programs.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, automation engineers, and external vendors for successful implementation.
Define interface, data flow, and system interaction diagrams for FTPC solution components.
Technical Expertise:
Provide technical oversight on MES platforms like Rockwell FTPC, Ignition, Client Proficy, AVEVA, etc.
Configure and customize MES applications including production tracking, genealogy, traceability, quality, and maintenance.
Define cybersecurity and data integrity practices for OT networks and MES systems.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Work closely with manufacturing, quality, IT, and plant engineering teams to gather and analyze requirements.
Support business case development, technology evaluation, and vendor selection.
Compliance & Standards:
Ensure solutions comply with regulatory and corporate standards (GxP, ISO 9001, ISA 95, ISA 88).
Maintain documentation as per change control and validation processes.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify improvement areas in MES architecture and suggest innovative digital solutions.
Participate in knowledge sharing initiatives and build architecture best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor¿s or Master¿s degree in Engineering (IT, Computer Science/Engineering, Instrumentation or related field)
10+ years of experience in MES/FTPC implementation in manufacturing industries.
Hands on experience in architecting MES systems in automotive, pharma, aerospace, or discrete manufacturing.
Deep understanding of IT OT integration, edge computing, OPC UA, MQTT, and industrial protocols.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Industry 4.0 platforms and integration with analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, ThingWorx etc.).
Knowledge of ON PRIM and cloud based MES solutions and microservices architecture.
Familiarity with SCADA, Historian, PLC/automation control systems.
Strong communication and documentation skills. Seniority level
