You'll gain hands-on experience performing field and lab testing, preparing engineering drawings, and supporting project teams in a collaborative environment.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with subsurface explorations, soil sampling, and geotechnical field testing activities.
- Perform construction materials testing and analysis on soils, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
- Prepare and modify engineering drawings, site plans, and technical documentation using AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with engineers to evaluate site conditions and assist in foundation recommendations.
- Support data collection, analysis, and preparation of geotechnical reports and project documentation.
- Participate in field inspections and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and contractors.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
- 0-2 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Familiarity with construction materials testing procedures and equipment
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work both in the field and office, with willingness to travel as needed
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or in progress
- Experience with geotechnical software or additional CAD tools
- Prior internship or co-op experience in geotechnical or construction materials engineering
- Detail-oriented and safety-conscious
- Eager to learn and grow professionally
- Collaborative team player with strong work ethic
- Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
