Network Analyst What you will do: Installs client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems. Maintains network operations and software applications, operating systems; performs preventive maintenance. Manages assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives. Responds to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel, outside vendors, etc., to provide technical assistance and support of the network. Analyzes department needs, writes programs to address needs, performs system tests and documents application; communicates with personnel regarding software and hardware needs and concerns. Troubleshoots malfunctions of local and wide area networks from wall through route, including hardware and software applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services. Interacts with other IT resources to ensure prompt resolution of network problems. Provides network user support and assistance; follow-up with users on outstanding problems logged through the service desk; serve as a resource for on-call rotation. Responsible for break/fix activities as well as new equipment installation. Serves as department contact for service, regardless of assigned application system(s) issues. What gets you the job: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution in Computer Science or related discipline and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology Systems to include a minimum of two (2) years of working with enterprise wide vendor software applications and experience in information technology support is preferred. Minimum of one (1) year network evaluation, acquisition, and installation and maintenance experience. Experience with technical problem resolution and support. Mobile device network administration and Windows operating systems experience required Network client installation and configuration on a variety of platforms. Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in both private sector and municipal environment is preferred. Seniority level
