Head of Structural Engineering A dynamic multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a seasoned structural engineer to lead and grow its structural division. With a talented five-person team already in place, we’re looking for someone ready to take the reins—developing people, refining processes, and scaling the group to meet rising demand across commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use projects. This is a pivotal role for a technical expert and natural leader who’s excited by the idea of building something. You’ll oversee team operations, drive design excellence, and play a key role in business strategy, with a clear pathway to senior firm leadership. Key Responsibilities Provide technical oversight for structural engineering across all projects, ensuring designs meet performance, code, and constructability standards Lead, mentor, and grow a team of structural engineers and designers, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration Shape strategy, hiring, and division planning alongside executive leadership Oversee project staffing, delivery, and QA/QC for structural scope Collaborate closely with internal architecture and MEP teams to develop fully integrated designs Participate in client meetings, design charrettes, and site visits as the structural lead Establish and improve departmental standards, workflows, and design documentation practices Support business development efforts by assisting with proposals, project pursuits, and client engagement Identify opportunities for innovation, sustainability, and digital design integration within the structural group What We're Looking For Proven structural engineering experience with a strong track record of technical delivery and leadership Experience in commercial, mixed-use, or hospitality projects, with a deep understanding of IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, etc. Proficiency with structural analysis tools and familiarity with BIM/Revit workflows Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset Strategic thinker with the initiative to build systems, lead hiring, and support long-term departmental growth A passion for mentoring others and elevating the structural practice Why This Role?
