IT Manager, Infrastructure and Operations
at The Iowa Clinic might look like? Manages, plans, organizes, schedules, prioritizes, assigns, and reviews the work of assigned information technology staff, monitors workload, deadlines, goals, and progress. Trains staff and ensures application of current performance, policy, and processing standards. Conducts analysis and provides input into information technology strategic planning. Participates in budget development. Plans, organizes, and serves as project manager on large/complex information technology projects. Evaluates emerging technologies and identifies hardware, software, and other resources necessary to accomplish unit tasks within budgetary constraints. Recommends the purchase of hardware/software. Establishes unit standards and policies; implements and recommends actions to improve workflow, simplify operational and reporting procedures, and improve performance standards. Coordinates unit activities with vendors, users, and other operational units. Maintains work, time, and cost records. Writes status reports, including conclusions and operational recommendations. Recruits, retains, manages, and leads the department staff by building appropriately sized teams with the proper technical, application, implementation, and general medical informatics expertise to support current clinical needs and adapt to changing needs. Works with the Director of IT. Develops and effectively manages detailed and overlapping project plans (scope, schedule, budget, communication, risk management, and issue management) for various IT projects through interaction with project teams, users, and leadership. Identifies and resolves concerns or constraints related to the IT Infrastructure. Provides leadership and mentoring to assigned staff by conducting performance evaluations and staff meetings to ensure education and communication. Develops options to address complex operational issues and helps resolve them promptly. Troubleshoots and tracks documented problems and solutions. Assumes accountability for enhancing own knowledge of new developments through professional organizations, workshops, in-services, etc. Maintains awareness of applicable laws and regulations, ensuring compliance. Maintains strict confidentiality of all patient information. Promotes a positive, professional image of The Iowa Clinic internally and externally. Serves as a role model and fosters positive interpersonal relations. Maintains awareness of co-workers' workloads and offers assistance as appropriate. Actively participates on internal or external committees and/or task forces as assigned. Performs other tasks as assigned. This job might be for you if you have
Education:
Bachelors degree preferred, or Associates degree with equivalent experience
Licensure/Certification:
None
Work Experience:
At least 10 years of Information Technology experience. Prior management or leadership experience preferred. Healthcare technology experience preferred.
