Job Description: Technical Project Manager (Scrum Master)

$60$80/hr (Negotiable) Overview We are seeking a
highly experienced Technical Project Manager
to support a top-tier financial services client in Austin, TX. This is a critical role for someone who can lead complex, technical projects in a fast-paced Agile environment. Youll work closely with engineering, product, and executive teams to manage project lifecycles from planning to successful execution. The ideal candidate combines a
strong technical background
with
exceptional project management skills
and excels at delivering software and infrastructure projects aligned with business priorities. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in technical project management, software delivery, or IT operations. Proven experience managing Agile software development teams (Scrum, Kanban). Strong grasp of SDLC, system architecture, cloud platforms, and DevOps pipelines. Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Asana, Trello, or MS Project. Proficiency in risk management, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement. Exceptional communication, leadership, and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in a technical field (CS, IT, Engineering). Certifications such as
PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, PMI-ACP , or
SAFe Agile . Experience in emerging technologies: AI, IoT, blockchain, or big data projects. Exposure to cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps tools, and enterprise project management practices. Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, or SQL. Key Objectives Lead and manage the full lifecycle of technical projects from inception to delivery. Collaborate across product, engineering, QA, and infrastructure teams to define goals and scope. Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. Track project timelines, risks, dependencies, and performance metrics. Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. Drive Agile methodologies including Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews. Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and best practices. Core Responsibilities Define and document project scope, deliverables, and success metrics. Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent technical projects. Coordinate deployment, testing, and integration efforts with engineering and QA teams. Conduct risk assessments and proactively manage mitigations. Track key milestones, KPIs, and budget utilization. Communicate project updates and blockers to stakeholders and leadership. Ensure adherence to SDLC, coding standards, and architectural best practices. Work with external vendors and partners to support technology implementations. Lead post-project evaluations and drive continuous improvement. Why This Role?
