Job Title Senior ITS Consultant - Compute SRE
Location Orlando, Florida USA
Travel 25%
Job Description:
Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable compute infrastructure, focusing on Wintel, Linux, VMWare, and Redhat KVM environments.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed for reliability and performance across different operating systems and virtualization platforms.
Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency, especially within Wintel and Linux systems.
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance system reliability in VMWare and Redhat KVM environments.
Develop and maintain deployment, monitoring, and operational tools for Wintel, Linux, VMWare, and Redhat KVM.
Resolve issues in development, test, and production environments related to compute challenges.
Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents to ensure high availability of compute resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement security, compliance, and data protection standards within Wintel, Linux, VMWare, and Redhat KVM systems.
Document processes, procedures, and configurations related to compute infrastructure.
Requirements:
Experience as an SRE or similar role with focus on compute infrastructure (Wintel, Linux, VMWare, Redhat KVM).
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Java, C/C++, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
Strong understanding of networking, security, and system administration in Wintel and Linux environments.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Knowledge of databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Familiarity with microservices architecture.
Required Skills:
7+ years of experience in a global enterprise environment.
Ability to work in a 24x7 on-call environment.
Experience with distributed storage technologies (NFS, HDFS, Ceph, Amazon S3) and resource management frameworks (Kubernetes, Mesos, Yarn).
Desired Skills:
Proactive problem identification and performance optimization.
Leadership in DevOps/SRE practices, incident management, and operational reviews.
Experience with products like ServiceNow, BigFix, Tenable, CrowdStrike, Splunk is a plus.
