Job Summary:
Lead Product Stewardship activities and regulatory support for one or more designated business units. Coordinate chemical registrations and manage complex customer and regulatory issues with minimal supervision. Support the company’s regulatory compliance both regionally and globally. Work on defined projects to ensure that the company is in regulatory compliance and meets the EHS requirements of internal/external customers. May have some supervisory responsibility.
Responsibilities:
Lead EHS support for a designated business unit(s), anticipating potential EHS issues and working proactively to mitigate risk. Respond to internal and external customer EHS inquiries. Maintain functional competency with global hazard communication standards such as OSHA HazCom, GHS, CLP & WHMIS. Communicate product classification changes and impacts to global business, R&D, and customers. Coordinate new chemical registrations with R&D and business to ensure alignment with business plans. Support key regulatory affairs activities such as registrations and regulatory reporting at the regional, and on occasion, at the global level in coordination with the Advisor for Regulatory Affairs. Monitor the development of international chemical legislation in designated countries and advise on the impacts to the company. Champion support for one or more global or large regional customers. Coordinate trade secrecy protection necessary to protect proprietary product information. Represent the company in trade associations and industry working groups as needed. Support company policies, procedures, and Responsible Care Assist EHS colleagues and support activities as necessary in all EHS areas. Understands the chemistry, function and applications of company products. Demonstrates knowledge of key regulatory trends and their impact on the company’s business. Maintains functional knowledge of global hazard communication standards. Able to manage complex customer, business and R&D questions/concerns with limited supervision. Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrates excellent advocating and negotiation skills. Able to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and meet required deadlines. Able to interpret, summarize and convey complex information. $110,000 - $140,000

Technical Qualifications:
BS/MS level, Chemistry with 5-8 (10 preferred) more years of experience in a broad regulatory background in GHS, production safety and associated Product Stewardship, SDS, GHS, WHMIS, and CLP (European), product labeling, global risk assessments, transportation regulation, and excellent communication and presentation skills to work across groups and functions. Experiences with TSCA a huge PLUS.
Preferred:
Master of Science degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, Toxicology, Sustainability or related field. Demonstrated understanding or Product Stewardship and EHS functions typically acquired through 10 or more years of relevant experience for a global platform. Supervisory experience. Demonstrate a strong level of knowledge & understanding of global GHS hazcom regulations. Functional knowledge of chemistry as it applies to hazard communication and regulatory information.
