Lead/Staff Bioinformatics Scientist
to join our Bioinformatics Research Team focused on Epigenomics in Oncology. Our mission is to change disease management worldwide by using information from a simple blood draw to detect disease early and inform treatment proactively. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in algorithm development, genomics, sequencing data processing, and/or applied machine learning. This individual will serve as a technical lead for various algorithm and machine learning model development projects. Responsibilities
Design, implement, and validate innovative algorithms and statistical methods to analyze large-scale data sets related to cancer detection. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence. Collaborate with molecular biologists and clinical scientists to solve challenging problems. Contribute to experimental design and ensure data integrity and quality control. Act as a technical lead during various phases of research and product development. Mentor and train other bioinformatics scientists. Qualifications
PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field with a focus on cancer epi/genomics. Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in bioinformatics, including algorithm development, data analysis, and machine learning. Deep understanding of sequencing data. Familiarity with public databases such as TCGA, COSMIC, or OncoKB. Proficiency in Python and experience with Linux command-line tools and shell scripting. Ability to visualize findings and communicate results effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. High scientific rigor and eagerness to learn about new computational methods and biology.
