Provides coverage at the circulation desk:
This involves using the library's integrated library system (ILS) to check materials in and out, process renewals and holds, and collect fines or fees. Assists library users by responding to inquiries:
Assistant patrons find materials, answer basic questions about library policies and services, and may assist with using library technology like computers and printers. Provide directional assistance and help patrons navigate the library's physical space. Assists with collection management:
This includes shelving books and other materials, shelf reading to ensure items are in the correct order, and shifting materials as needed to maintain a neat and organized collection. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency; Basic computer skills; Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work independently and in group situations; Experience working with a diverse community. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with library circulation system; Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Part-Time, Non-Benefited Position (Temporary Position) Hourly Rate:
$16.00/hr.

typically two afternoons/week 2:00pm - 6:00pm primarily during academic semesters Funding Source:
